Best Answer: Flooding happens when fuel condenses in the intake manifold. In bad cases you can look down the carburetor and actually see pools of raw gas. (not a good idea BTW) By waiting a little while the gas evaporates and the engine can start. - read more
Try starting the car several times if it does not start immediately. Do NOT lift your foot off the pedal between tries. Run the starter in four-second intervals so you do not overheat the starter or drain the battery too quickly. - read more
